Historical and Comparative Linguistics have allowed the classification of languages into families, sub-families, groups, and sub-groups. Geographical linguistics studies and locates the languages and their varieties as far as the geographical space where they are used is concerned. In Togo, much research has already been done on the inventory, the classification, and the geographical location of national languages. Unfortunately, to date, one cannot tell precisely the number of Togolese languages. There are as many results published in this regard as there are researchers who have worked on this issue. The present paper aims to solve this problem of disparity, by the use of tools from dialectology and dialectometry as suggested by Goebl (1983), Guiter (1973), and Möhlig, (1986).
